Modified Style
Projects / Projects & Design
Modified Style is a nonprofit organization supporting and encouraging the fashion community in Portland. A bag of random donated fabric is assigned to each designer to create a runway look. At the end of the fashion show, all of the designs are auctioned off to benefit local charities. Pretty cool.
2010
I made a lovely cotton plaid dress with back cutout, asymmetrical neckline, and patchwork skirt with pocket. It was fully lined with red cotton floral fabric. I finished the look with a cropped knit motorcycle jacket trimmed with the plaid cotton. This vintage inspired design earned me 2nd place.
2011
This bag of fabric really stumped me. I actually started with making the wide brimmed floppy hat. The inspiration followed with a draped asymmetrical ITY dress. I loved the one sleeve and cowl draped neckline. And so did the bidders. My design received the highest bid at the auction and a 3rd place trophy.
